What appears on Louisiana911

The public feed supplies a location, incident description, reported time, and assisting-unit label. Louisiana911 separates combined location text into its published street, cross street, and municipality so the list remains readable and the map can validate the location.

  • Traffic incident descriptions exactly as the public feed provides them.
  • Assisting labels normalized into FIRE, POLICE, and SHERIFF when those words are supplied.
  • Lafayette, Broussard, Carencro, Duson, Scott, and Youngsville municipality labels when present in the location text.

Location handling

Street and cross-street components are checked within the Lafayette service area before a marker is displayed. Louisiana911 does not use a city-center fallback for an unresolved location and does not turn a normal street name into a precise address.

Update-time limitation

The Lafayette endpoint does not publish a dedicated “last refreshed” timestamp. Louisiana911 therefore reports the site's own successful feed-check status instead of inventing an upstream update time.

Important: This page describes a public traffic feed. It is narrower than a police blotter or full 911 call log, and an incident label is not proof that a crime occurred.
